Privacy Policy

Introduction

Myrtle Lodge is a ‘bricks and mortar’ business and this website exists to promote it. We make no attempt to collect any of your personal information, we simply hope you will visit Mablethorpe and stay in our Guest House.

Data Encryption

Our site uses a secure certificate to encrypt traffic between our server and your browser. This enhances your security and prevents third parties from seeing what you are browsing. In some countries (including the UK) your Government records the websites you visit from information collected via the DNS system. This behaviour is beyond our control and if you don’t want it to happen we suggest you use a reputable, paid for, Virtual Private Network (VPN) or, if you have the know-how, configure your network to use a DNS over HTTPS service.

Cookies and Tracking

At the point of it’s completion this site was audited and found to serve no cookies other than those relating to Google Analytics (see below).

We have avoided using popular social media sharing button services or ‘Sign in with Facebook’ features that exist to build a wider picture of your browsing habits across multiple websites and social media platforms.

We do not include any 3rd party advertising so avoid the privacy and cross site tracking concerns they raise.

This site uses several components by third parties that could potentially introduce cookies through updates without our knowledge. If you are concerned we recommend you investigate the options to control cookies in your browser.

Those concerned about tracking may also want to avoid using browsers and devices built by companies who’s business model is the collection, and monetisation, of your personal data.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

This site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

In common with virtually every professionally run website we use Google Analytics to gauge site performance. We have no way of connecting this statistical data with your personal data (not least because we don’t collect any).

The contact form requires your name, email and message in order for us to receive and respond to your enquiry. Your message is emailed directly to us – no copy is retained on the website removing the potential for it to be seen by our website developer or someone gaining access to the site maliciously.
